This is honestly just a test post. As I develop this site, I plan to occasionally share some items I enjoy and would recommend. Here’s one that my husband and I were just looking at today!
We bought this credenza (or maybe you could call it a sideboard? a buffet?) soon after we moved in to this house, and now it has been in our kitchen for years. The colors of the wood were a great fit for our space: mostly natural with a hint of blue-green. For us, it functions as a pantry because we don’t have a built-in pantry in this house, and I was really missing the extra space for storing food! I love the modern look of this design, and it was exactly the right height to fit against the railing that divides our kitchen area from the downstairs family room. It’s low enough that we can easily see over it to see what the kids or the dog are doing in the other room. Plus, keeping things down low means the kids can help get things out that they need. The adjustable shelves work great for storing a variety of different ingredients, snacks, drinks, canned goods, and so on.
If you’re looking for storage of any sort, I’d definitely recommend this credenza. If you have practice putting together furniture, we didn’t find this one to be too difficult to assemble. The hinges take some adjustment, but after about 10 minutes of trial and error I had all of the doors aligned pretty well. I think this cabinetry would be a great fit with mid-century modern decor, or any style that is a bit more streamlined but still a little decorative. The unit even has holes in the back for cords, so you could even use it as a media console!
